Agua Mágica is an Ensamble mezcal blending Espadín and Tobalá agaves grown in San Juan del Río, Oaxaca, a high-elevation pocket prized for concentrated agave sugars. The agaves are pit-roasted in an earth oven over white oak for three days, then crushed under a horse-drawn stone tahona before fermenting naturally and running twice through copper pot stills. Expect cooked maguey and light smoke on the nose, with banana, almond, and fresh herbal notes carrying through a silky palate to a peppery, nutty finish. Sip it neat to let the smoke settle, or pour over a single rock.
Tasting notes
Nose: Unique blend of cooked maguey, with vague notes of smoke, bananas, and almonds.
Taste: Smooth on the palate. Feels fresh with a slightly salty flavor, as if drinking water from the river. Sweet notes with citrus, caramel, banana, almonds, and peach accents.
