Overview

Madrecuixe is a tall, single-stalk agave (karwinskii) that grows slowly and gives mezcal a green, mineral edge. This California-only batch comes from Eleuterio "Tío Tello" Pérez Ramos, whose ripe agaves from Miahuatlán, Oaxaca were roasted over mesquite firewood, fermented in cypress tanks, and distilled in a small copper alembic still. Expect layered floral, fruity, and herbal notes across the sip. Pour it neat at room temperature in a copita, no ice, and let it slowly open.
