Zancudo Espadin is an artisanal mezcal made by Carlos Alberto Morales Taracena, a sixth-generation mezcalero in San Dionisio Ocotepec, Oaxaca, Mexico. The Agave Angustifolia (Espadin) is grown for seven to eight years, cooked in an earthen pit oven with pine wood, crushed in a traditional tahona mill, fermented naturally in pine tubs, and double distilled in copper stills. Bottled at 43% ABV, it delivers a herbaceous, soft and sweet profile with light smoke, built to work equally well sipped neat or mixed into a cocktail.
Herbaceous and lightly smoky, with a soft, sweet palate and notes of lemon, caraway and orange.
