Curaçao usually leans on Caribbean orange peel, so a version built around Japanese yuzu is a genuine plot twist. Maison Ferrand, the Cognac house, sources late-harvest yuzu from a biodiverse Moroccan orchard, picking the fruit in February once its oils have concentrated. Whole yuzu is macerated, distilled in copper pot stills, then married with a Ferrand Cognac base. Expect candied citrus, mandarin peel, vanilla and marzipan. Pour it into a margarita or sidecar where the citrus can lead.
