What if Kentucky took a roadtrip to Texas and introduced its very own small batch bourbon to some Texas mesquite. What if those two became best friends in a bottle – a small batch Kentucky Straight Bourbon, refined with American Oak and mesquite charcoals. You might think that’s a long way from home for a Kentucky straight bourbon, and you’d be right. But turning a ‘what if’ into a ‘that’s it’ can be pretty tasty. A small batch Kentucky Straight Bourbon, refined with American oak and Texas mesquite charcoals.

Tasting notes

Nose: A sweet blend of caramel, smooth toffee lifted by spicy notes of nutmeg and oak.

Palate: Initially creamy vanilla, fading into buttery caramel, orchard fruits, a dash of lemon zest tempered by a drizzle of honey.

Finish: A pinch of black pepper appears on the finish, followed by an underlying buttery note and lingering drying oak.

Two thirds OK. Get it?

"Although it's not a "alright alright alright" bourbon, this drink is unquestionably "alright alright. " Nice woodsy flavor, albeit not quite as strong as WR Double Oaked. Excellent whisky for drinking and for use in old fashioneds and other mixed beverages. The value, in my opinion, is not quite there. There are a couple better and less expensive bourbons that I can identify."

Would climb a branch for this

"I recently purchased this on sale and was pleasantly impressed by the depth of taste! As you take the first taste, you don't notice the 43% abv. The bourbon has been balanced and infused with deep, rich caramelized overtones thanks to the action of the oak and mesquite barrels. Excellent when poured over a big ice cube. The alcohol starts to work when you go for a second glass because it's so good!"

God bless Texas, and thanks to Kentucky.

"Simple to love for a fair price. . . You get what you paid for, and the purchase is worthwhile. Smooth and unburdened warmth that is pleasing and welcome. . . thing eases up as it goes down. . . and a new fave of mine! / altered: God bless Texas, and thanks to Kentucky. They say "The aroma is a balanced blend of vanilla and spices. Flavors of caramel, pear, and traces of citrus round out the palate, while the mild, smokey finish is buttery smooth—with notes of light pepper and toasted oak. ""

Longbranch is a good option.

"My second bottle was opened yesterday night, and the first tastings were accurate. First of all, ever since my undergraduate days, I've enjoyed Wild Turkey. However, the addition of oak and Texas mesquite filtration raises this to many notches in my opinion. I'll be buying this wonderful bottle from Total Wine a lot more times in the upcoming months, perhaps because it pairs well with the preferred BBQ wood smoke I frequently employ. Five points achieved!"

The greatest bourbon is from wild turkeys.

"Even though this is the more expensive option, it is still very much worth it. I've tried every wild turkey and russells reserve offering, and this one is still my favorite. bourbon-like in flavor but very smooth and sweet when consumed. The initial shot has a delicate, honey-like scent over ice. You may taste the aroma of honey moss smoke after the second and third shots. It is more of a very smooth, sweet bourbon with very little smoke or spice. The cost is definitely justified! Longbranch is the best bourbon, and 101 and Longbranch are the best wild turkeys. I ultimately broke down and got it, much to my surprise, even though I believed it was a gimmick!"

Enjoyable sipping with nice flavor.

"I gave this one a try for the first time, and I thought the flavors were fantastic. With a cigar, easy, smooth drinking is excellent. Without a doubt, I'd buy this one again! I'm attempting to give this one 4 1/2 stars, but it won't let me!"

Let's get started, sip. . .

"I made the commitment to purchase Matthew McConaughey Wild Turkey - Long Branch whiskey. Although I prefer rye, I thought this Bourbon was excellent. The best way to enjoy this bourbon is neat. Has a smokey, mesquite flavor to it because McConaughey is from Texas. If you want to try something different and enjoy a pleasant bourbon, I definitely recommend it."

Knox (4/5)

Way to cool, Dude!

"At this cost, the turkey is simply outrageously smooth and delicious. I'm drinking it straight up without any ice or water. I believe you'll like this profile if you're a fan of High West. If you like Turkey, you probably have purchased this bottle."

Drummond (5/5)

The turkey has arrived.

"Wow, it was my first taste. Simply put, this bourbon is quite good. Very flavorful and smooth, with good flavor notes and a subtle barrel flavor. I will definitely give you the thumbs up."

Oussumo23 (5/5)

An excellent 86-proof bourbon with added bite

"Decent taste An 86-proof bourbon has a bit more bite than I'm used to, but the water smooths it out well. Uncertain of the cost or worth."
