Overview

More Info

In the summer of 2018, the late, legendary Dave Pickerell returned to our barrelhouses with one mission in mind: create the best Rye Whiskey for use in the world’s best cocktails. He knew he wanted a mashbill of 100% rye to capture a full-flavored spice. He just needed to land on the ideal age statement and bottling strength to realize his dream. It didn’t take long for him to arrive at perfection: a rye aged not less than six years, carrying a strength of precisely 96.56 proof. A sturdy thread of cinnamon and citrus binds it all together. Stir or shake as you choose. But always sip in good company.93 Points from Wine Enthusiast. Certified Kosher.

This Absolutely Not Bad at All

"This is somewhat above ordinary, earning four stars if three stars is your standard. If you prefer to sip without paying $75, try something different. On the taste, there are strong cinnamon flavors. I haven't tried it the old fashioned way, but I'm sure it would be excellent!"

— Soomin Q. (4/5)

Forward-thinking Rye

"Although it's the only product from WhistlePig I've ever drank, I don't think this 6 year rye has much depth. It's not horrible, but it's too balanced for my tastes. It might be right for you if you want a rye that is balanced and smooth."

— Jeom O. (4/5)

My husband and I's Fave

"My husband adores rye whiskey; this is his current favorite and the least expensive variety from WhistlePig; he hasn't had a chance to explore the more expensive varieties, though."

— Bonfilia V. (5/5)

The 6 Year Piggyback Rye from Whistlepig is quite smooth.

"The first time I tried this rye, I was pretty much hooked. The delicious taste and smoothness truly persist through with a lovely finish."

— Li G. (5/5)

Whistle Pig delivers as promised!

"Give PiggyBack a try if you enjoy finding rye with a highly distinctive flavor. The flavor is refreshingly distinctive, especially the finish. Whistle Pig doesn't let you down."

— Young-Soon (4/5)

Flowy and bursting with baking spices

"Outstanding rye whiskey. has a faint hint of baking spice and a warm touch of cinnamon. Simple to sip and smooth. best paired with a Don Carlos or Opus X."

— Erec S. (5/5)

The Best Investment If Not Straight

"It is impossible to tell the difference between a 6 year and a 10 year when used in a cocktail or old fashioned. if quality is important to you, this is the best investment."

— Romeo E. (5/5)

Superb Rye Spice

"Six whiskeys—including bourbon, rye, name brands, whisky club barrel selection, etc. —were tested in an ice house. The clear winner was Piggyback."

— Frasquito C. (5/5)

— Esyllt T. (5/5)

Tastes amazing and is worth the money.
