Malagouzia was nearly wiped out in Greece before growers began reviving it two decades ago — Vourvoukeli Estate, a family winery in Avdira, Thrace, planted their first vines to this indigenous grape in 1999. Grown organically on coastal hillsides, the fruit sees a cold pre-fermentation soak, then ferments cool in stainless steel with no oak, landing at 13% ABV. Expect white flowers, apricot, and tropical fruit on the nose, gentle acidity, and a fruity finish. Pour it chilled alongside grilled fish or fresh feta.
