Town Branch Small Batch Straight Rye Whiskey comes from Lexington Brewing & Distilling Co. in Lexington, Kentucky, distilled on copper pot stills imported from Scotland at the Town Branch Distillery downtown. The mash bill runs 90% rye, 5% corn, and 5% malted barley, small-batched, non-chill filtered, with whiskey averaging around seven years old. Expect a spicy nose, a palate of vanilla, dried fruit, and oak with a peppery edge, and a warm, dry finish — Forbes named it a top rye pick in 2021. Pour it neat or build a Manhattan that actually stands up to the vermouth.
