The Whiskey Lab - 13 Year Uncharted Whisky Co. Bat Out of Hell Single Malt Scotch Whisky
From the quiet of the Highland coast comes this rip-roaring behemoth, echoing thunder through the glens, and leaving naught but fumes in its wake. This spirit has rested 13 years in a second fill sherry butt, striking balance between weighty distillery character and sweet wood influence. Despite its age it has held an outrageous strength.

When we first sampled this whisky, we thought there had been a mistake in the measurements. The cask strength was reading in the high sixties! However, when we tasted it, we realized that there was no mistake- it was full bodied, full flavored and absolutely wild- a definite Bat Out Of Hell. We tasted it at lots of different strengths- it’s natural 69.0% was too high to be enjoyed by most people. So we set about balancing drinkability while maintaining a kicking abv strength. We settled at 60.0%.

Nose: Bright caramel, cereals and malt, butteriness and Thorntons special toffee. Aromas of dried lemon rind.
Palate: Bright zing accompanies a really weighty spirit forward dram. Boiled barley sweeties, cloves and spice of woody European oak.
Finish: Long rounded finish with dried apricots and dried lemon rind sinking into oaky the spice blend.
