Glendullan is one of Speyside's quiet achievers, and this 12-year single malt makes an easy introduction to the region's softer side. Matured mostly in American oak ex-bourbon casks with a splash of European oak ex-sherry, it pours clean and rounded: juicy red fruits, raisins and citrus up front, then vanilla, gentle honey and a whisper of spice. The finish is creamy and lightly drying. Bottled at 40% ABV, it's a relaxed sipper neat or with a few drops of water.
Tasting notes
Nose: Fresh, light and clean. Fresh fruitiness and soft fragrant notes; scented leather, subtle sandalwood and vanilla.
Palate: Fresh and easy to drink; spicy, then soft and pleasantly sweet. Fruity, with citrus, raisins, vanilla and a hint of honey.
Finish: Short, creamy and smooth.
