Named for a Goya sketch about defiance, this Napa Valley red keeps the Zinfandel-first spirit of the old-world mixed-blacks style, stacking in Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, Syrah, Merlot, and Malbec. Fruit comes partly from Korte Ranch in St. Helena, a vineyard that has stayed in the same family since before Prohibition. Aged with 35% new oak, it opens with cranberry, blackberry, dried plum, and toasted coconut, finishing soft and spice-laced. Pour it alongside grilled meats or aged cheese.
