The Macallan Exceptional Single Cask 2018/ESH-3917/10 is a 25-year-old Highland single malt Scotch whisky, distilled in 1993 and matured entirely in a European oak sherry hogshead until bottling in 2018. Hand-selected by a Macallan Whisky Maker as too distinctive to blend into standard releases, this single cask yielded just 237 bottles at cask strength, unfiltered. Expect dried fruit, dark chocolate, and espresso on the nose, with toffee, citrus, and toasted nuts through the palate into a long, warmly spiced finish. Pour neat in a Glencairn glass to let the sherry-cask depth unfold slowly.
Tasting notes
Nose: Summery berry tart, raspberry, blackcurrant and almond.
Taste: Toffee, cinnamon, vanilla.
Finish: Long lasting berry fruits and oak.
