The Hampden - Old Single Jamaican Rum Great House 2024
The Hampden Estate Great House 2024 is the latest annual release in a series that showcases the distillery's intense, high-ester, and pot-still Jamaican rum. Bottled at 57% ABV, this limited-edition blend contains several of Hampden's "marks"—or recipes—from different vintages, including a measure of the famously high-ester DOK mark.
The 2024 expression is a unique blend of four marks and vintages, making it a departure from earlier releases in the series.
Nose: Bursts with tropical fruit and esters, including notes of pineapple, mango, banana, and orange marmalade. Subtle hints of vanilla, cinnamon, and earthiness are also present.
Palate: Clear, lively, and full-bodied. The flavor profile includes abundant tropical fruits, mint, chocolate, and baking spices. The finish is long and intense.
Finish: Notes of herbaceous tobacco, pepper, and dried fruits like cranberry and raisin linger on the palate.
