Extra añejo tequila spends four years resting in ex-bourbon barrels, long enough to start flirting with whiskey territory. Master distiller Don Carlos Padilla grows the blue weber agave himself on his Los Altos estate near San Julián, Jalisco, then hand-crafts the whole process without additives. Expect a nose of bourbon-laced oak and toasted coconut, a palate of roasted agave and salted caramel, and a long, creamy finish. Pour it neat in a rocks glass, the way you would a good bourbon.
