Overview

Most whiskey stories start in Scotland or Kentucky — this one starts in San Jose. 10th Street ferments domestic two-row barley, double-distills it in copper pot stills with California Sierra water, then ages it in barrels that are shaved, toasted, and recharred for extra caramelization. Bottled without chill-filtering at 46% ABV, it opens with buttery caramel and spice, moves into cherry, vanilla, nutmeg, and clove, finishing round with candied fruit. Double gold at the New York and San Francisco spirits competitions. Try it neat or in an old fashioned.
Tasting notes

Nose: Lightly spicy with overtones of sweet caramel and butterscotch.

Palate: Complex cherry-like sweetness with notes of vanilla bean, nutmeg, and clove.

Finish: Smooth and round, filled with decadent flavors of candied fruits.

Tipxy AI Overview

What people across the internet are saying
★ ★ ★ ★ ☆ 4/5 AI Rating

Reviewers on Whiskey Wash, Drinkhacker, Paste and Whiskey Apostle compare 10th Street STR favorably to Glenmorangie, Caol Ila unpeated and Monkey Shoulder. Public sentiment: light, refreshing, enjoyable mouthfeel and long finish from shaved-toasted-recharred ex-bourbon casks. Young but a rare under-2-year worth drinking. Solid SF craft.
