Rick Stillwagon started distilling in Reedsport, Oregon after a career as a cabinet maker and tinkerer, and rum turned into his obsession — he's built out roughly 30 varieties. This is the barrel-strength cut of his Devil's Own Gold Rum: cane sugar and blackstrap molasses, double-distilled, then rested in new charred American oak until Batch #8 hit a full 120 proof with no added color. Expect vanilla, caramel, and real heat. Pour it neat, slow, and in small measures.
