Stags' Leap Winery calls this bottling "The Leap" because it's literally a barrel selection — the best blocks, lots, and cooperages from each vintage, hand-chosen and blended together. Grown on 30-year-old estate vines in the rocky, heat-reflecting soils of Napa's Stags' Leap District, it's mostly Cabernet Sauvignon (77%) rounded out with Petit Sirah, Petit Verdot, Malbec, and Merlot. Expect black cherry, cassis, espresso, and cedar with velvety tannins. Pour it alongside grilled steak or let it rest in the cellar a few years.
