Here's a Sonoma Chardonnay with an interesting backstory: Smoke Tree was the first new brand Moet Hennessy launched in over a decade, made by Joel Burt of Domaine Chandon. The fruit comes from cool pockets across Carneros, Alexander Valley, and the Fountaingrove District, blending old Wente and Robert Young clones with newer Dijon plantings. Expect jasmine and elderflower on the nose, then a creamy palate of lemon, Pippin apple, and white stone fruit. Pour it chilled alongside roast chicken or a creamy pasta.
