Made at NOM 1120 in Atotonilco el Alto, Jalisco, one of the last distilleries still running a stone tahona alongside a roller mill and blending the two juices together. Agave is cooked in brick ovens and fermented with the fibre left in; the añejo then sits about 18 months in oak. Bottled at 40%.

"We've been looking for someone to take the place of Casamigos Anejo. NOT THIS IS IT. The flavor is even worse than the terrible nose. It has a harsh, vegetal, and woody flavor. We will ATTEMPT to combine it for margaritas, but I'm not optimistic that it will even blend well. For margaritas, we typically use 1800 reposado. It is obviously not an anejo to sip."

It's a phenomenal tequila.

"One of my favorite tequilas that is reasonably priced and accessible is NOM 1120. The nose is amazing. It starts off with minerality and sweet toasted agave. Weak caramel, earthy vegetation, vanilla, mild cedar, nutmeg, ripe mango, and grilled peaches are under the top layer. The palate draws attention to the agave's impacts from the barrel. A punch of caramel and butterscotch with toasted agave, mint, and rosemary is there up front. The earthy minerality and copious amounts of black pepper in the midpalate and finish beautifully highlight the taste of Mexican water. As the finish wanes, it begins with mildly dry, oak-tannic vegetation, mild dryness, and mild leather before ending suddenly. Overall, this tequila is fantastic. a few tequilas Overall, this tequila is fantastic. This bottle of tequila doesn't fade or lose flavor with time like some do. As the bottle opens, it keeps its flavor and actually cools down in the heat. Reposados are normally my preference over Anejos, but this expression is far superior to Siete's Repo. Investigate this tequila. It changes as time goes on, adding new flavors. This drink has a lot of flavor and richness for being 80 proof."
