Scorpion Mezcal Reposado comes from San Agustín de las Juntas, Oaxaca, Mexico, distilled from 100% Espadín agave and rested in French oak barrels for six to twelve months. The small-batch mezcal opens with honeyed agave and toasted oak, rounding out into caramel, warm baking spice, and a whisper of smoke on the finish. Wine Enthusiast called it "Highly Recommended" and "Superb." Each bottle famously holds a real scorpion at the bottom. Pour it neat to catch the oak and smoke, or shake it into a mezcal Old Fashioned for a smokier twist on the classic.
Tasting notes
Aromas of lanolin and honey from Mexico. Honey, grassy herbs, flax, caramel, salt, and light spice lead to a dry light-to-medium body of honey, grassy herbs, flax, caramel, salt, and light spice. A honeyed oak barrel note lingers on the finish.
