Sazerac de Forge & Fils revives a cognac house founded in 1782, now produced at Domaine Sazerac de Segonzac using old, native French grape varieties largely abandoned after phylloxera reshaped the region. The Finest Original blend marries eaux-de-vie aged seven to fifty years into a rich, full-bodied cognac at 47% ABV — yellow stone fruit and dried flowers on the nose, silky layers of dried fruit, nutmeg, and cinnamon, finishing on soft oak tannin and vanilla. Pour it neat after dinner to savor the old-world character.
