Sanford's Chardonnay comes from the Sta. Rita Hills, a narrow, fog-cooled corridor in Santa Barbara County where Pacific air pushes straight through the valley — ideal terrain for Burgundian varieties. The wine is barrel fermented and carried through full malolactic conversion in oak, then aged around eleven months in barrel, a portion of it new French wood, building a texture that's rich without losing its citrus-and-orchard-fruit backbone. Pour it alongside roast chicken or pan-seared scallops.
