Vintage Port isn't made every year — Sandeman's winemakers only declare a vintage when the Douro harvest earns it. The chosen grapes age about two years in large oak vats before bottling, then keep developing for decades in the bottle, deepening from ruby toward tawny. Expect dark fruit, spice, and chocolate on the glass. Pour it slightly below room temperature alongside a wedge of Stilton or a square of dark chocolate for the classic Port pairing.
