Rooster Rojo's mezcal comes from Lopes Sosa Palenque, a small palenque in San Juan del Río, Oaxaca, where Maestro Mezcalero Rodolfo Lopez Juan signs every bottle by hand. The espadín agave is crushed with a traditional tahona stone, then double-distilled in copper stills, leaving this joven expression smoky-sweet — charred herbs, cooked agave, citrus, and a peppery finish. Bottled at 43% ABV in a dark clay-style bottle, a nod to the old Oaxacan custom of keeping mezcal out of direct sunlight. Sip it neat, or shake into a smoky margarita.
