When the Camps fled Santiago de Cuba after the 1959 revolution, they carried their 1872 rum recipe to the Dominican Republic — and kept blending it the same way ever since. Gran Reserva 18 uses a solera system borrowed from sherry and brandy houses, cascading molasses rum through casks so no barrel is ever fully drained, for an average 18 years of age.
