Redwood Empire - The Colonel Armstrong Wheated Small Batch Bourbon Whiskey
When it came time to name our new Wheated Bourbon, we were struck by its warm, nostalgic notes of cereal and strawberry. So, we turned to the story of Colonel James Armstrong. After fighting for the Union, he moved to Northern California and he preserved what is now Armstrong Woods when he gifted the land to his daughter for $1, love, and affection. A distinctly special story for a distinctly special whiskey.
Mash Bill: 59% Corn, 30% Wheat, 6% Rye, 5% Malt Barley
Age: 122-barrel blend aged upwards of 14 years old
The oldest tree in the Armstrong Woods, the Colonel Armstrong tree is estimated to be over 1,400 years old. Its grove is a testament to the legacy of stewardship in California, and the connection between a father and his daughter.
Color: Deep Golden Hue
Palate: Soft, rounded mouthfeel with layered notes of ripe stone fruit. A touch of vanilla and honeyed grain. A hint of strawberry Uncrustables, gentle baking spice, and a smooth oak finish.
