Rakia is Bulgaria's answer to grape brandy, and this bottling from Vinprom Karnobat in the Thracian Valley leans into the perfumed Muscat Ottonel grape. Distilled and rested twelve months in oak, it pours straw-gold with a floral muscat lift, then softens into vanilla and caramel across a long, gently sweet finish. It has picked up silver at Concours Mondial de Bruxelles and beyond. Pour it slightly chilled, around 12 to 14 degrees Celsius, as a leisurely after-dinner sip.
