Pura Vida's añejo traces back to the Vivanco family, four generations of agave growers in Jalisco's Los Altos highlands, partnered since 2009 with an American entrepreneur who wanted to build something from the ground up. The tequila is triple-distilled from 100% blue agave, then rested at least a year in American oak bourbon barrels until it turns amber and picks up vanilla, coffee, chocolate, and a whisper of black pepper. At 80 proof, it's built for sipping neat, maybe alongside a square of dark chocolate.
