El Viejito has crafted tequila outside Guadalajara since 1937, when Don Indalecio Núñez Muro founded the family distillery that still bears his name. This Plata is unaged, 100% blue agave, made from piñas matured eight to ten years before a pass through copper stills. Expect a bright, buttery entry — melon and white pepper up front, then cooked agave sweetness rounded out with honey and black pepper. Pour it over ice for a crisp margarita, or sip it neat to meet the agave head-on.
