Arneis translates to "little rascal" — a nod to how tricky this Piedmont grape is to grow. Pietro Rinaldi's Hortensia comes from vineyards in Madonna di Como, on marl, clay, and limestone soil above Alba, and spends two to three months resting on its lees with regular stirring to build aroma and texture. Expect white flowers, citrus, and chamomile up front, with almond and mineral notes trailing into the finish. Pour it chilled alongside pasta, shellfish, or a simple antipasto spread.
