Overview

Khvanchkara is one of Georgia's most storied reds — a naturally semi-sweet wine from the Racha-Lechkhumi highlands, made only from the native Aleksandrouli and Mujuretuli grapes. Palavani ferments the blend through a short maceration, then halts fermentation by cooling and filtering, locking in the grapes' own sugar rather than adding any. The result is a light ruby glass with raspberry and red rose on the nose. Pour it alongside spicy grilled meats or a rich chocolate cake.
