Nina Gran Bonarda comes from Bodega San Huberto, made entirely from Bonarda grapes grown in Valle de Aminga, La Rioja, Argentina, at roughly 1,450 meters elevation. The grapes undergo a 20-day traditional fermentation with extended maceration and indigenous-yeast malolactic conversion, then rest 12 months in first-use French oak. Expect a deep, violet-tinged red packed with cherry and strawberry fruit, rounded out by warm notes of caramel and vanilla from the oak, and a long, structured finish. Pour it alongside grilled red meats or aged hard cheeses.
