Nantou Distillery's Omar Single Malt comes from Taiwan Tobacco & Liquor Corporation, and this bottling leans on ex-bourbon casks with just a few drops of ex-sherry-cask whisky for added depth. Non-chill filtered at 46% ABV, it opens with lemon and orange peel, cinnamon, and runny caramel, then moves into milk chocolate, toffee, vanilla, and ripe banana. The finish carries honeyed barley and dried tropical fruit. Medium-bodied and oily, it's a warm-climate malt worth pouring neat and sipping slow.
