There's a gusano — an agave worm — resting at the bottom of every bottle, a nod to old-school Oaxacan mezcal tradition dating back to the 1940s. Monte Alban is made from espadín agave grown in Oaxaca and distilled the time-honored way, giving it that signature campfire smoke over roasted agave, black pepper, and a mineral edge. "I started drinking Mezcal before it became the latest “in” drink and was a little know treasure. It’s not Tequila, never claimed to be, it is the drink of the people. Mezcal…. . it has a smooth, complex flavor, blends well with lime juice for a traditional Margarita or when served strait up with a touch of the spice packet it comes alive when sipped.
