Lodi's Phillips family has been farming this ground since the 1860s, but Freakshow is where their fifth-generation know-how gets a little wild. This Syrah-based red, layered with Petite Sirah, spends 15 months in French and American oak, landing full-bodied and velvety with blueberry pie, brown sugar, and violet up front, then blackberry, plum, marshmallow, and cocoa nibs through a dark oak finish. Pour it alongside something char-grilled and let the 15% ABV do the rest.
