Cabernet Franc rarely gets the solo spotlight — it's usually a supporting player in Bordeaux blends. Michael David bet on it anyway, bottling Lodi's first from a nine-acre plot near the Mokelumne River. Aged in French oak, it turns dark and plush: black cherry, red plum and baking spice on the nose, then dark chocolate truffle and peppery spice over smooth, polished tannins. At around 15% ABV, it's built for grilled steak, a slow braise, or a cold night and a good chair.
