Masi's Riserva Costasera comes from the classic Valpolicella hills above Lake Garda, where the estate calls it their "gentle giant." Corvina and Rondinella are joined by the rare native Oseleta grape, then the fruit is dried on bamboo racks for months before a long rest of roughly 40 months in Slavonian and Allier oak. Expect dark cherry, cocoa, espresso, and cinnamon layered over a long, dry finish — pour it alongside braised short rib, aged Grana Padano, or a wedge of dark chocolate torte.
