Tipsy Sauce - Chocolate Hard Sauce
Maraschino conjures cocktail-bar clichés, but this one comes from an 1865 Piedmont recipe still made the old way. Fratelli Vergnano crushes whole Marasca cherries — pits included — then runs the mash through a copper pot still, so the cherry flavor lands bright with a whisper of almond from the stones. A touch of sugar and filtration round it into a clear, 30% ABV liqueur with a balanced, fruity finish. Sip it neat, over ice, or stir it into a Marasca-forward cocktail.
