Here's a reposado with a rock-and-roll backstory: Mala Vida was founded in 2016 by Alex Gonzalez, drummer of the band Maná. The 100% agave comes from Los Altos, Jalisco, grown high between 1,800 and 2,200 meters, then rested in French and American oak. Expect a nose of ripe fruit, cooked agave, vanilla and cinnamon, with sweet caramel and a long, rounded finish. At 40% ABV, it sips beautifully neat or over a single big cube alongside boldly flavored food.
