Madre Black Label Espadin started with a favor: the founders discovered this mezcal in reused plastic bottles from roadside producers in Oaxaca and brought it back to Brooklyn bartenders. It's still made the same way today, single-varietal Espadin agave from small family palenques, additive-free, bottled at 43% ABV. Expect bright, earthy aromas and a round, balanced sip of ginger, pine, and sandalwood with a whisper of mesquite smoke. Pour it neat, or build it into a smoky margarita.
