High on the hillside between Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet sits Chateau de Blagny, a single vineyard Louis Latour has entirely to itself. That cooler, higher perch gives this Meursault Premier Cru more lift than most of its neighbors — bright pale gold, with honeysuckle, vanilla, and fresh almond over citrus and a long mineral finish. Hand-picked Chardonnay, barrel-fermented, aged 8-10 months in French oak, about a third of it new. Pour it slightly chilled with pan-fried chanterelles, salmon, or a triple cream cheese.
