Lobos 1707 Reposado starts as 100% Blue Weber agave tequila, then takes an unexpected turn: after resting in American white oak, it's finished in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks using Spain's solera method, a handshake between Jalisco and Jerez. The result carries dried orange peel, dry baking spice, white chocolate, and a burnt-caramel finish, with sarsaparilla underneath. Bottled at 40% ABV, it picked up Double Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Pour it neat to catch the sherry influence, or build it into a spiced Old Fashioned.
