Needs the Additional Funds
"Yes, it definitely improves upon the standard Lagavulin. The PX didn't take over as I had anticipated; instead, it remained there gracefully. It was just quietly loitering in the distance and amusingly peeping through the smoke like a devil. Cornbread, berries, honey maple, and maple throughout the nose. However, Bowmore 18 probably has a larger sherry influence than this. And without a doubt, I prefer the Bowmore, but this is worth the extra money over a typical 16-ounce bottle. Kilchoman Sanaig is also incredibly lovely to me. Sanaig is undoubtedly of a higher caliber than this, but for the money I'm leaning for Sanaig."

Amazingly Good, you will be imputable to its seductive power!
"Such a wonderful and delicious single malt scotch whisky. When you sniff your glass, the sherry cask's SWEET velvet touch hits you right away. The next flavor is a toffee and vanilla offering that is immediately followed by a smack in the face of earthy, aromatic peat. A seductive and mouthwatering scent is followed by an astonishingly smooth punch of smokey peat that just overwhelms you and makes you fall in love with this fantastic whisky. I drink mine in a Glencairne glass, opening it up with a few drops of cold filtered water. I have a crush on this whisky. You will have to admit that this Lagavulin Distillers Edition is something exceptional if, like me, you are addicted to the peat smoke of a silky smooth single malt. I like every sip, and I always keep Dram on hand in my cabinet. Slange!"

Excellent With Additional Complexity
"Purchased a month ago, this was excellent. I must now choose which to purchase when I visit the store. Either 16 or distillers, I suppose I'll get both. Pedro ximenez's extended age gives it a greater depth with dried fruit and more sweetness."

Infernal Smoke
"Peaty and medicinal aromas are present. Fruity, salty, and spicy flavors are there, but they are soon overtaken by an overwhelming dry smokiness that covers your entire mouth. reminds me of a ham with cherries and delicious spices. The conclusion lingers. The next morning, I was still taste the peat smoke! A great whisky for a chilly winter evening. You will enjoy this if you enjoy good Islay single malts, but if you can't tolerate smoke, keep away from the fire!"

This Isley Scotch is incredibly nuanced and rich.
"This is more than just a single malt and will undoubtedly satiate your palate. You will receive more than you expected. This is constantly on my bar."

Top on the class
"I went out on a limb to try the Distiller's Edition and I was floored. A lot of people try to describe it with very flowery, taster type words, but I will put it to you plain because it is a staple Scotch, and I have always appreciated the Lagavulin 16. Have you ever licked a grill's interior? Drinking this Scotch is just like that, and it is fantastic."

The scotch I prefer most of all
""This is my desert island whisky. If I could only have one for the rest of my life, I might choose the Dimensions Bruichladdich 15, but that would mean living a shorter life because it is 3X as expensive and might not last forever. Still, this Distiller's Edition is in a virtual tie, so I'll give it the win. As much as I adore the 16, the Distiller's Edition is smoother while simultaneously being more intense, rich, and complex. You better love Islay and Lagavulin, but only if you do will you like this."

This year's edition of the distiller is outstanding.
"The magnificent, fabled Lagavulin 16 was completed (excellent) in fine sherry casks. With abundance of red and black fruits, it is still smoky and peaty. Worth a try!"
