Armagnac's B-side to Cognac's fame, and worth the detour. This bottle comes from a single 1898 estate in Sorbets, Gers, run by the Lesgourgues family since 1974 — the same family behind Château de Laubade. Ugni Blanc and Baco 22A wines are run through a continuous column still, then aged in Gascony oak. Expect orange blossom and pear up front, softening into vanilla, honeyed fruit, and a woody backbone. Sip it neat, lightly chilled, or as the base of an Armagnac sour.
