Delicately smoked 100% rye whisky. Limited edition pre-release. Following an old northern custom, the rye has been introduced to a touch of alder smoke in a 100-year old "riihi" barn. Alder wood tends to produce aromas that are reminiscent of campfire smoke, smoked ham, and the forrest. A rather delicate smokiness supports the rye flavours, resulting in a balanced complex whisky.Matured in ex-bourbon, French oak, and New American white oak barrels. This is a pre-release making way for our wider smoked rye whisky range.
Tasting notes
Nose: It’s very earthy, dark, and mysterious almost. The rye is very prominent, while the alder smoke lingers in the background. Hints of resin, some spruce, milk chocolate, gentle floral notes, and damp oak. Touches of caramel too.
Taste: Toasted rye bread with fennel seeds, meringue, and almonds, alongside a touch of mocha and nougat. T
Finish: Medium length. A surprising appearance of blue cheese
