What people across the internet are saying
★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 5/5 AI Rating

A 2,535-bottle batch sourced from fifteen barrels — eleven aged 13+ years plus four re-barreled into new charred oak. Bottled at 59% ABV. Aggressive, spice-forward palate of chili powder, black pepper, and cinnamon up front, then a graceful fade into vanilla, honey, and charred oak. Spice lingers nicely through a long, well-knit finish. Collector-grade.

Reviews

All in all, this bourbon is fantastic.

"This bourbon is outstanding in every way; it has a good depth of flavorful richness and a high proof level. $300 is a lot to spend on a bottle of whiskey, but this one more than lives up to expectations. Will I purchase one more? Probably not because of the cost, but I'm pleased with my purchase nonetheless and will store it for special occasions."

Kentucky Owl has a rich, nuanced flavor character.

"Rich taste profile with depth. I've needed a few pours to completely understand all of the subtleties. The 60. 1% is smooth, though. This won't let down individuals who dabble in the several hundred dollar market. This would make a lovely "special occasion" pour for those who don't."

Does not justify the asking price

"Despite being a reasonably good bourbon, it doesn't justify its high price. It ought to be among the best bourbons I've ever had since it was the most expensive bottle I've ever bought, but it's not even close. Any day of the week, I'd much rather have 5 bottles of Elijah Craig Barrel Proof."

Wonderful bourbon! among THE BEST!

"First, let me say that I've tried more than a hundred different bourbons. I tend to choose barrel-aged or cask-strength bourbons with a little sweeter flavor. This bottle was my buy after reading reviews. It IS expensive! $300 is the MSRP. I was ecstatic when I tried it for the first time, and fortunately Tipxy had it for UNDER MSRP! I've tried a number of expensive bourbons, including Pappy 15 and 20 year, limited edition bottles, and more. This bourbon stunned them all. I will admit that I struggle to distinguish the many "notes" in bourbons."

Fantastic Bourbon

"One of the current market's best bourbons, in my opinion. Despite the high ABV, incredibly pleasant. Considering how difficult it can be to obtain this merchandise, $289 is an excellent price. A few years ago, I spent $450 on batch #9. 10/10."

The best bourbon I've ever tried might well be this one!

"I should probably start by stating that I have a sizable bourbon collection and have sampled well over 100 different bourbons. I favor bourbons with a little sweeter character that are cask and barrel strength. I was blown away by Kentucky Owl from the very first sip! Pappy Van Winkle 15 and 20 year are among the pricey bourbons I've tried. Kentucky Owl easily outshines them in my opinion! Even though I am aware that this bourbon is incredibly expensive, I still bought a few extra bottles since I didn't want to run out of this fantastic whiskey. Although I have only used the batch 10, I have heard that the batch 9 is also excellent if you can obtain it. I think this bourbon could be the greatest I've ever had! Excellent mouthfeel, with notes of caramel and vanilla and just the proper amount of oak."

Every drop matters.

"Scrumptious bourbon This one won't leave you disappointed. And for the person who would prefer 5 bottles of Elijah Craig, there is simply no comparison. A $300 bottle of bourbon was simply not in the budget for the reviewer."

Batch 10 of Kentucky Owl bourbon

"For the big occasion, choose a quality bourbon. Fantastic and inviting nose. The palate is intricate. Long and with a pleasant spiciness, the finish."

Exemplary Kentucky Owl

"I adore Kentucky Owl's craftsmanship, and their limited editions are top-notch!"

"Not a great whiskey for the money,"

""Not an excellent whiskey for the price; most $60 whiskeys and some $40 whiskeys are superior. Buy E. H. Taylor for over $100. ""
