A limited annual release, Jameson's Bow Street 18 starts at Midleton, where single pot still and single grain whiskeys age a minimum eighteen years in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks. The blend then travels back to the original Bow Street site in Dublin for a final six-month marriage before bottling at cask strength, non-chill filtered and naturally colored. Expect caramel and toffee up front, giving way to sherry-driven spice, honey, and roasted nuts, with a long, oak-laced finish touched by dried fruit. Pour it neat in a Glencairn to let the cask strength open up slowly.
Tasting notes
Nose: Rich wood-driven influence with deep toffee notes and spice.
Taste: Toffee and oak remain consistent with hints of leather and vanilla along with a subtle sherry nuttiness creating depth and complexity.
Finish: Long and full with the sweet toffee notes slowly fading while the toasted oak and spice linger throughout until the very end.
