J. Lohr helped define what Paso Robles Cabernet tastes like, and Seven Oaks is the bottle that made the case. It's mostly Cabernet Sauvignon, rounded out with splashes of Petite Sirah, Petit Verdot, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Syrah, then aged twelve months in American oak. Expect black cherry and currant threaded with toasted pastry, hazelnut, and vanilla, all riding softly textured tannins. Wine & Spirits gave it 90 points and a Best Buy nod. Pour it with a grilled ribeye.
