Grown on Santa Barbara County sites where cool Pacific fog gives way to warm afternoon sun, this Pinot Noir comes from CW Intercept Wines, the label founded by former NFL cornerback Charles Woodson. Fermented in stainless steel with malolactic fermentation, then aged 14 months in French and Eastern European oak (30% new), it pours garnet in the glass with strawberry, pastry cream, and nutmeg on the nose, finishing with fine, dusty tannins. Pour it alongside grilled salmon, braised duck, or a stuffed portobello.
