More Info

Full bodied agave flavor. Light smoke, lingering heat. An ideal mezcal for cocktails or perfect on its own.

Ilegal Mezcal Joven was awarded Double Platinum, the highest award, in the ASCoT Awards, blind-tasted and scored for appearance, aroma, taste, and finish.

How to open the bottle: Hold the neck of the bottle firmly and, with your thumbs, gently push the sides of the cork. When the wax breaks, pull up the cork and enjoy!

Reviewers on Distiller and Mezcal Reviews are sharply mixed on Ilegal Joven: agave, citrus, pepper with smoke up front, but described as one-note and best for cocktails. Fans defend it as a solid bar staple; critics call it overpriced for an entry-level joven. Cocktail workhorse.
